The Loading Dock's Origin Story

A loading dock at most businesses is the place where employees would gather to take a break, wait for deliveries, have a group hang after work, etc. With the big garage door and the many other businesses on our campus, we serve a very similar role.  We pride ourselves on being the place where our friends and neighbor can gather for a sense of community.  Not only do we make our space a place to escape to during the workday, but we feature many of the makers and artists that have become our customers and friends. From our locally roasted coffee beans, to the art displayed on our walls, we support local artists and businesses at every opportunity.

When Fort Houston moved to its new location, the need for that communal space was obvious. When one of the local makers decided to open the coffee shop, it basically named itself.

We pride ourselves on being the place where our friends and neighbors can gather for that same sense of community.
